Screwdriver mixed drink recipe. Good starter camcorder when working in tight budget!

I was happy to find the Panasonic Palmcorder VDR-D200 while looking for a good value deal on a starter camcorder.The amount we spend on an electronics purchase is often proportionate to the quality of the product: the higher the cost, the higher the quality. Knowing that, I intentionally sacrificed some quality because I chose not to spend a lot of money on my first camcorder.Some of the features that attracted me to the Panasonic Palmcorder VDR-D200:- digital zoom up to 1000x- 30x optical zoom- records directly to mini-size DVDs - DVD-RAM, DVD-R and DVD-RW - and after recording, the disc is compatible to play on most DVD playersPros- decent value for the money- easy to use- small, lightweight and easy to carry- clear and easy-to-understand manualPro and con: One of the advantages of this unit for me is that it uses the SD card for still pictures, which means I am finally learning to get products that utilize the same type of memory card! (My Palm LifeDrive and my Canon PowerShot SD400 both use the SD card.) However, for the most part, I won't be taking still pictures with the Panasonic Palmcorder VDR-D200 as the resolution is a low 640 x 480. I will shoot still shots with my Canon PowerShot.(Pro in that it uses the SD card. Con in that I probably won't utilize this poor resolution feature of the camcorder.)Pro and con: Ability to upgrade with add-ons, such as telephoto/wide-angle lenses, longer-lasting batteries, flash attachments, etc. (Pro in that this ability exists. Con in that it is an additional expense)The Panasonic Palmcorder VDR-D200 was a win-win purchase for me as it matched my budget and my camcorder expertise!Read full review
